Site Schemas

The Site Schemas section off for SEO information, which needs to be present across all pages on a site. Examples of this information could be company address information, company logo or company email addresses.

Creating a Site Schema value

From your site dashboard, click the view button on the top-right of the Site Schema block

From inside the Site Schema section, click the blue button to the bottom-right of the page, and click on either “Add Schema (Free Text)” or “Add Schema (Image)”.

The options to upload either of the schemas varies slightly


Add Schema (Free Text)

From inside the Site Schema section, click the blue button to the bottom-right of the page, and click on “Add Schema (Free Text)”

Meta information that can be added to any given Free Text Schema consist of the following options:

  • schema.org- Description - This is the meta description text that is intended for the header of a web page
  • schema.org - site_name - This is the name of the website
  • schema.org - domain - This is the top level url for the site (eg: https://www.webolytics.com)
  • schema.org - sameAs - enables the page to be contextually linked to another online source (eg a Facebook page for the same brand)
  • schema.org - contactPoint - telephone - this is the primary phone number for the owner of the website
  • schema.org - contactPoint - contactType - specify the type of contact assigned to the website
  • schema.org - contactPoint - areaServed - the region/location which the site is relevant for
  • schema.org - contactPoint - addressCountry - the country that the site resides in
  • schema.org - contactPoint - addressLocality - the region that the site resides in
  • schema.org - contactPoint - postalCode - the post code / zip code of the site
  • schema.org - contactPoint - streetAddress - the street name and number of the owner of the site
  • schema.org - email - the primary email address of the owner of the website

Fill in the form as appropriate and click Create.

The meta information will now appear on the page list

Add Schema (Image)

From inside the Site Schema section, click the blue button to the bottom-right of the page, and click on “Add Schema (Image)”

Meta information that can be added to any given Schema Image can consist of the following options:

  • schema.org - primaryImageOfPage - this is the primary image which search engines should use, when referencing the content form the page off-site
  • schema.org - logo - this is the logo of the owner of the site

Select the type of meta information that you want to add, and fill in the form as appropriate.

Where the meta information added is an image, you will have the option to either select an existing image form the Media Asset Library, or to add a new media asset. To add a new media asset to the Media Asset library, check the “Add Media Asset” with to the top-right of the form. The Select box under the file upload window is defined by the folders that have been set up in the Destinations Section. If no destinations have been created, then this will need to be done first, as media assets are dependant on the destination being active and available.
